DeLand running back Jo Jo Kemp was one of the many prospects who came to USF's junior day this past Sunday and came away very impressed with what the Bulls had to offer.
"It was a great experience," said Kemp. "I got to see all the players and coaches and had a great time. Everybody told me great things, but it was even better seeing it for myself."
Kemp came in a day early so he and his teammates could hang out with his former teammate USF safety Mark Joyce.
"I came in early and got to spend time with Joyce and that was real nice," said Kemp. "I got to hang out with a bunch of the players and was talking with Chris Bivins. He enrolled early and was telling me all about how nice the campus and facilities were and that it's like a family there. I felt like home when I'm here."
Kemp has been to USF several times already, and talked about what he thought of the Bulls campus and facilities.
""I really like the campus, it's very big and very nice. Everybody around here is very nice and helpful," said Kemp. "The facilities are just incredible. Everything is big and nice, the weight room is big and nice and I really like the new practice fields, they're awesome. They got two grass fields and a turf field too, which was real nice. I like the therapy room and how they take care of the players too."
Since he's been to USF previously, just being around the coaches again as one of the highlights of the trip..
"I got to meet with all the coaches and that went great," said Kemp. "They were telling me that I can be a real good fit with them and to keep working hard. They also said to enjoy the recruiting process, because it's unique and to just stay humble. I really like how down to earth the staff at USF is."
"I basically knew what I was coming into because Mark Joyce tells me everything about the school," said Kemp. "He says nothing but good things."
Kemp currently has two offers, one form USF and another from
The Deland running back talked about where the Bulls stand after the visit..
"I'm not going to lie, USF is number one on my list right now," said Kemp. "I love the coaching staff, and I think I'm a perfect fit for the offense. I like everything about the school, the city and the community. USF is number one no doubt."
Kemp talked about when he may make his decision of where he'll play his college ball.
"I may decide to enroll early and get things rolling, and if I do that, I'll make an early commit," said Kemp. "If I don't, I'll probably be one of those signing day guys."
The stand-out back plans on being busy the next few weeks with a junior day visit on tap as well as a couple of combines.
"I'm probably going to go to UF's junior day next weekend," said Kemp. "I'm also planning on going to the National Underclassmen top 150 combine in
