Skai Moore is a stand-out defensive back for University School of Nova South in Ft. Lauderdale , FL. The rising senior made a trip to check out USF during junior day and liked what the Bulls had to offer.
"The trip went great. I liked it a lot up there," said Moore. "I met some of the coaches and liked them a lot. We saw the campus, the facilities, we got to speak with the players an see what they liked about the program. It was really a great day."
Moore got to tour the campus, the facilities and liked what he saw.
"The campus was beautiful, and the facilities were just great," said Moore. "They got some new fields they recently added a few years ago, two grass fields and a sweet turf field as well. The weight room seemed top notch and the rehab center was very nice."
During the visit, Moore also got to spend time with the players and ask them questions.
"It was cool the way we got to ask the players questions and see what they liked about the program and the campus," said Moore. "They said that they would choose USF all over again if given the chance. They also said how they have a great support system and stay on top of you with not missing workouts and classes. Basically they said it's hard not too be successful there."
Moore also got to meet the USF coaching staff and liked what they had to say?
"We talked to coach Holtz an Coach Scott and I liked them a lot, they seemed like great men," said Moore. "They were blunt and honest about the program and they were saying that they want to win with guys from Florida and they don't recruit nationally. They know they can win with Florida guys like us. I liked that philosophy."
Following the junior day visit, Moore received the news that he received an offer from the Bulls.
"Yes, they told me that they were offering me a scholarship," said Moore ." It feels great to get that offer from them. I'm excited and looking forward to see what they can do this year."
The stand-out linebacker now has a couple of offers under his belt with several other teams showing interest in him.
Moore said he currently has a short list of schools standing out to him right now
"The schools standing out to me are the two schools that have offered, lol," said Moore . "They showed the most interest to offer me first so I'm showing them the same love back."
The University School prospect talked about how did the junior day visit affected how he felt about USF.
"I got to see how great of a program it was first hand," said Moore. "I really enjoyed it so it affected me a lot. They're at the top right now."
With it being early in the process, Moore doesn't have a timetable for when he'd like to make a decision, but he does know what factors he's looking at to help him make that choice.
"I'm looking at playing time, the coaching staff, and atmosphere," said Moore. "I also want to feel at home with the program and at the university."
Moore talked about if USF fit those criteria.
"I think they will in all aspects but I would like to officially visit them before I can say they did," said Moore . "So I hope to come back and check them out during spring practice and I want to take an official visit there to really see what they're about.
Moore plans on taking a few junior day visits coming up.
"I'm not totally sure, but I'll probably go to FSU junior day on the 18th most likely," said Moore. "After that I don't know just yet."
