One of the top prospects in the greater Tampa Bay Area is Lakewood's Rodney Adams. The 6-foot-1, 166 pound Adams had a big junior season, leading Lakewood with 819 yards receiving and 10 touchdowns. On Sunday the standoutreceiver took a trip over the bridge for USF junior day.
"The visit was good," said Adams. "I like when they gave us a tour around campus, showed us the weight room, and everything was real nice. We also got a chance to talk to some of the players and coaches, and that was good too."
"One of my favorite parts was where they eat at. Because I like to know where we'll be eating and if the food is good, and it was."
Adams got to spend time with the USF players and ask them questions.
I got to talk with the players and that was real nice," said Adams. "I liked actually listening to how the players really feel and the honest answers they were telling us."
"They were telling us how it feels to be a incoming freshman on campus and how it feels to be a part of the Bulls football team, and how it feels to be away from family," said Adams. "I got a good feel from the players. It was a good vibe nothing bad or negative."
The standout receiver also got an opportunity to spend time with the Bulls coaching staff.
I got to talk with the coaches and that was nice I got see meet some of the coaches I had never seen before," said Adams. "I talked with Coach Joe (Sloan), the receivers coach, my coordinator Coach Hargreaves, the running back coach Fitch,. And I got to talk with Coach Holtz for a little."
"They were saying they were happy to see me and stuff," said Adams. "I think they have a great coaching staff, and I like them a lot."
Adams also got to tour the campus and facilities on his visit.
I thought the campus and facilities were great," said Adams. "Everything was big and new."
The Lakewood prospect talked about how he felt about the Bulls.
"I think USF is a good program," said Adams. "I think they'r coming up.
Coming off a big season, Adams said he's received 8 offers including USF, UF, FSU, Miami, Oklahoma, San Diego State, Toledo, and Vanderbilt. With an impressive list Adams said h has several schools sticking out.
"Right now I have UF, FSU, Oklahoma and Miami," said Adams. "Those are the ones sticking out."
