USF commit Zach LeDay enjoying Bulls success

The Bulls are enjoying their best hoops season in 20 years, and one person playing close attention is Zach LeDay, a power forward from the Colony HS in Texas who committed to Stan Heath back in January. The 6-foot-7, 218 pound prospect talks about what he's been up to, his commitment, and the the Bulls season.

USF commit Zach LeDay, a 6-foot-7 power forward out of The Colony HS in Texas committed to USF in January and just finished leading his own team into the play-offs.

"Things are going great. We did well but just lost in the 3rd round of the play-offs," said LeDay. "I'm had two 30 plus games in a row and ran into a box in the third game and finished with 15. "

LeDay has been solid for the the Cougars all season,leading them to a 30-5 record.

"I had a pretty good season and averaged 20.6 pts, 8.4 boards, 1.5 assists, 1.4 steals, and 1.5 blks per game over the season," said LeDay. "Right now I'm just preparing for USF."

Even though he's been committed to USF for some time, and chose USF over offers from Missouri, Vanderbilt, Fresno State, and George Mason, among others, several new schools been trying to recruit him.

"Xavier and Southern Miss are newest since I committed to USF, otherwise it's really just the same ones," said LeDay. "But I'm solidly committed to USF though.

LeDay talked about what keeps him so solid with his USF commitment.

"When I visited I really liked the atmosphere, the new facilities and how real the coaching staff has been with me since they started recruiting me," said LeDay. "The coaches have been real with me all along and I like the family feel they have. I can just see myself fitting in great down there."

The Future Bull said he follows USF regularly,and loves watching his future teammates play.

"Yes sir! I watch them every chance I can!" LeDay said. "I loved watching them beat Villanova last night. That was a great win!" LeDay said. "I thought they played real good and took care of buisness like they were suppose too."

Leday said he likes the Bulls chances of getting in the NCAA tourney and have for sometime now.

"To tell you the truth, I thought they were in when they beat Louisville last week," said LeDay. "I just went wild wild in my living room when they won."

The standout prospect likes they way the Bulls have been playing defense all year. "I like it they hold some of the highest scoring team to like under 50 points," said LeDay. "You can tell they take pride in it."

He also likes tonight's quarterfinal match-up against Notre Dame.

"I feel we were in the best situation when we started the tournament anyway," said LeDay. " If we stop Cooley inside and the 3pt shooter it should be a W for us tonight.

LeDay talks about how it feels being committed to the Bulls and watching their success? "It feels great! said LeDay. "I can't wait to be apart of it next year down in Tampa!!"
