With the basketball signing period underway, Stan Heath and the Bulls are in the running for several prospects, who recently visited. One of them is Kore White, a 6-foot-8, 245-pound power forward who played last season at Florida Atlantic, but is looking to transfer under the NCAA graduate exception rule.
"The visit to USF went very well," said White. "It was a pretty good trip overall and I'm highly interested in them."
White came in for an official visit, toured the campus and the Bulls state of the art facilities and was very impressed.
"I thought USF had good people and great facilities," said White. "The practice gym was really nice and I really liked the Sun Dome. It's not finished yet, but it definitely looks like it's going to be real nice"
White was hosted by Bulls forward Toarlyn Fitzpatrick, and got to spend time with the rest of the Bulls.
"Toarlyn was real cool to hang with. I knew him from high school," said White. "All the players were nice and pretty outgoing and said a lot of good things about the program."
While on the trip White also got to meet with the staff face-to- face.
"They coaches were nice and were telling me how I could come in and help the team," said White. "They said that they feel like I am the missing piece."
The Bulls are coming off an impressive season making it to the third round of the NCAA tourney and White feels that the pieces are being put in place to make another run next year.
"They have great facilities, and are returning a good core of players," said White. "I feel that they are more in position now than ever before."
"They all have a lot to offer," said White. "I just got to pinpoint what they have and who has the best to offer for me personally as a player."
White said he wasn't ready to make a decision and is visiting LaSalle this weekend is next
"I'm at La Salle this weekend. I haven't set any more visits after that," said White. "I probably won't decide until after my graduation in three weeks."
