WR Badett has a new leader after USF offer

After receiving an offer from USF on Wednesday, the Bulls have emerged as the new leader for Orlando Freedom wide receiver Jeff Badet. The 6'0, 172 pound receiver talks about getting the offer, his new leader board, and when he may make a decision.

Jeff Badet is a standout receiver at Orlando Freedom's that reeled in 46 passes for 718 yards with 11 touchdowns while adding around 350 kick returns yards as a junior.

"I've got good size, hands and speed," said Badet. "Playing slot receiver I can use my speed to create space and mismatches on the field,"

Programs have taken notice as Badet received offers from Boston College, Louisville, Memphis, FIU, Western Kentucky, Bowling Green, Marshall, Illinois State, and Samford. But on Wednesday Badet re3cived an offer he's been waiting on.

"Recruiting has been going great, and I just received an offer from USF tonight," said Badet. "I was very happy to get that, because I've wanted a USF offer for a long time."

The 6-foot, 172 pound receiver has been talking with the Bulls staff for some time and things heated up recently.

"I was talking with the offensive coordinator Todd Coach Fitch yesterday and he said he let me know today and they pulled the trigger," said Badet. "He said he's offering me and really hopes that I come to USF and be a great player for them in the Big East. It made me real excited."

"They've been talking to me for awhile and I went to their camp a few weeks ago and they said I really moved up on their boards," said Badet. "My performance really helped lead to the offer."

With his newest offer in hand, Badet said his leader board has a new name on top.

"Right now I have USF at 1, and then Louisville at 2, Boston College at 3, FIU 4, and Western Kentucky at no. 5," said Badet.

The Freedom receiver talks about what puts USF at the top of his list.

"With USF, I feel that I have a very strong relationship with the coaches, and that's a big part of my decision, to have a good bond with the staff," said Badet. "I've been there so many times that I know it well, and I also have a very good opportunity to play as a freshman."

"I spent a lot of time with the receivers coach Jerome Pathon, and we talk about everything," said Badet. "He's a great coach, a great person, and I feel that I can relate to him."

Badet has been to USF many times and fell in love with what the Bulls had to offer.

"The campus is really beautiful and one of the ninth largest in the country. I been going there and every time I went I fell more in love with it," said Badet. "They have great facilities, practice fields, weight room and have everything you could ask for."

The standout receiver is also very good friends with USF QB commit Asiantii Woulard and that could play a role in his decision.

"Asiantii and I go way back and were close friends," said Badet. "From back when he was at Freedom to playing on the 7on7 team. We talked about catching balls together at the next level, and it's a strong possibility."

Next up for Badet is a 7on7 at the end of a july and a possible visit up north.

"As a team we're going to Disney for the wild world of sports 7on7," said Badet. "I'm supposed to go to Cincinnati on July 19th with some of my players, but that's all I have for the summer visits."

Signing day is a long ways off, but a decision could be on the horizon for the speedy slot receiver.

"I may make a decision soon," said Badet. "I just want to sleep on things."
