Restocking the secondary is one of the top priorities for '13, and besides bringing in a solid group the staff wants to add a few with some experienced for the next class. One prospect who could fit the bill is Nate Willis, a top JUCO defensive back at Arizona Western who visited USF on Friday.

"The visit was great, everything about," said Willis. The campus, the staff, the academic program and the overall school and student body, everything was really just great. I loved it."

Willis got in early Friday morning and got o take a tour of USF and really loved what he saw.

"It was beautiful, and everything I saw was just great," said Willis. "Everything was modern and new, and close together, so you go all over just to go to class."

During the tour Willis also got to check out USF's remodeled facilities.

"The facilities were real nice, the weight room, everything, the locker room is getting redone, so I could really check that out, but they say it's going to be incredible when it's done," said Willis. "Everything else I saw was great, the practice complex with the three fields was really nice, and they said they building even more things for the team."

"We saw everything, and I also got to see all the stuff they get, like the Under Armor jerseys and gear," said Willis. "I got to see all the different academic buildings, meet with the academic advisors, see the dorms, different dining halls, student center, and I was very impressed with all of it."

While on the visit Willis spent most of his time with secondary Coach Rick Smith, and graduate assistant D.J. Wingate.

"They were saying how much they wanted me, how it's a great opportunity for me,  They feel that I can come in and play right away and nothing is going to be given to me, but if I come in and work hard, I have the ability to play right away."

"I got to meet some of the players, the incoming freshmen, and Kayvon Webster, one of the starting corners, and their QB B.J. Daniels," said Willis. "Everybody was cool, and you can tell they all get along and there was a good vibe going on. It was very positive."

Willis, who visited USF several years ago, said one thing did surprise him on visit to Tampa.

"Yeah, the facilities, they were way better than one I visited back when my brother was being recruited," said Willis. "It's a big difference, and I was amazed how nice it was. They said they're going to get an indoor facility and  kep improving everything."

Before his visit to Tampa Willis listed USF among his top three, but said the visit affected how he felt about the Bulls program.

"I liked a lot about USF before I came down here," said Willis. "The visit was great and it just pushed them up even higher."

The 6-foot-1, 180 pound defensive back just added offers from Ole Miss, Arizona State, and Nevada, who joined South Florida, Kansas StateIowa State, Kansas, Indiana, Mississippi State, Memphis, New Mexico, Louisiana-Lafayette, and South Alabama.

With a solid list of schools and fresh off his recent visit, Willis said he has a list of schools sticking out to him with a new leader.

"South Florida is number one and at the top, they really took care of business" said Willis. "Then I have Ole Miss, Arizona State, Iowa State, and I like Mississippi State too."

The coveted defensive back talks about what puts USF at the top his list.

"It was really the overall feel of the school and the football program, the coaching staff is great, and they' up and coming," said Willis. "They've also put a lot of players into the NFL. That is a huge deal for me, because I want to get to the next level."

"I'm coming back probably next Thursday to meet the Head Coach, because he was out of town," said Willis. "I may go see Ole Miss to, but it hasn't been set up yet."

As to when he plans on making his college choice, Willis said he won't wait until the end.

"I plan on doing it soon, real soon," said Willis. "It'll probably be in the next couple of weeks."
