One of the schools that made the long-lasting trip this past week was the South Florida Bulls.
"Actually what happened was, they (USF) came up to the gym and they were in our open gym not too long ago," Gist said. "I think it was maybe a week ago. They told me to play and they came up to my coach after and told him they loved me. I think the next day they offered me."
As of right now, Gist isn't too familiar with the Bulls, but expects to learn more about Stan Heath's program in the near future.
"I haven't really looked up too much on South Florida," Gist said. "I really like the location being down in Florida. I knew they had a guard that was good not too long ago, I forgot his name."
A handful of those schools will receive a visit from Asante and his father, James Gist.
"We're taking an unofficial visit to N.C State on Nov. 1 and we're probably going to take an unofficial to Pittsburgh and South Florida as well," James Gist said.
As for leaders, everyone school is neck-and-neck for the rising sophomore.
"There's no clear-cut favorite," James Gist said. "He likes all the schools right now. We're looking to make our decision later on into the end of the summer before his senior year."
