Hester Seeks To Impress In Sophomore Campaign

After spending his first year in high school at Clearwater (Fla.) High School, rising sophomore point guard Eric Hester transferred to Oldsmar (Fla.) Christian School this past summer and is looking to improve all aspects of his game for his sophomore campaign.

Rising sophomore Eric Hester, hailing out of Oldsmar (Fla.) Christian High School, is a do-it-all combo guard who recently reassigned his basketball expertise to Oldsmar Christian after his freshman campaign at Clearwater (Fla.) High School.

Currently in the transformation to a pure point guard, Hester has been engaged in basketball activities all offseason tweaking his game in preparation for the upcoming season.

"I've been working hard all summer with Team Breakdown," Hester said. "Every day I've been working on my game doing ball handling drills and getting bigger, faster and stronger with my coach. My biggest strength is my height. I can shoot over smaller guards with my size because I'm playing the point guard position now."

As of right now, Hester holds offers from South Florida, Ole Miss, TCU, Miami (FL), Louisville, West Virginia and is drawing heavy interest from Florida and Georgetown.

This past weekend, Hester made the short trip over to Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay to watch USF square off against the Miami Hurricanes.

"The time at USF was good," Hester said. "I went out there and the coaches showed me around the campus and then we headed to the game. It was good. They (coaches) said they really want me. They told me they have a really good class coming in and they want me and another big to come in and change the program."
