Tate Waiting On First Offer

Tampa (Fla.) Wharton wide receiver Auden Tate is a matchup nightmare for most high school cornerbacks at 6-foot-4, 205-pounds. USFNation.com caught up with the junior standout for the latest in his recruitment.

Providing terrific size at 6-foot-4, 205-pounds, 2015 Tampa (Fla.) Wharton wide receiver Auden Tate has had a sensational junior campaign thus far, guiding Wharton to a 5-1 record through the first six games.

"Our season is going pretty good, we're 5-1," Tate said. "I've been doing well - I've been getting frustrated with double coverages, but it helps my other teammates get open so it's all good."

Tate hasn't received his first off as of yet, but numerous schools are showing significant interest in the talented pass catcher.

"Missouri, Miami (FL), Western Kentucky, Akron, Nebraska, FIU and South Florida have been showing interest," Tate said.

They're two schools Tate thinks might pull the trigger with an offer in the near future.

"I'm thinking Western Kentucky or USF - I'm thinking one of those two," Tate said. "I might be traveling up to Western Kentucky for a game soon.

When Tate sits down and makes his decision, distance will be a factor.

"The relationship with the staff, being comfortable with the school, and what's best for my family," Tate said. "I don't mind traveling, but distance will be a factor. I do want to stay close to my parents."
