Philpott Earns South Florida Offer

It was a special day on Wednesday for North Christian wide receiver Christian Philpott. The 6-foot-4, 190-pound pass catcher picked up his first offer from his home state with the South Florida Bulls pulling the trigger.

Coach Willie Taggart and the South Florida Bulls are on the recruiting trail in hopes of securing a commitment from a skilled pass catcher to help their program reach new heights in the near future.

On Wednesday evening, the Bulls' staff moved one step closer by pulling the trigger and offering 2015 Tallahassee (Fla.) North Christian wide receiver, Christian Philpott.

"Well, my head coach texted me and said to call coach (David) Reeves," Philpott said. "So I called him after bible study and when we got on the phone, he told me congratulations and that I have an offer from USF. I'm so excited because I've been waiting on this offer from them."

So far in 2013, the 6-foot-4, 190-pound Philpott has 18 catches for 403 yards and six touchdowns - guiding the Eagles to a 5-1 record. Aside from the Bulls offer, Philpott has collected offers from Southern Miss, East Carolina, Wake Forest, Indiana, Penn State, Northwestern, and Texas Tech.

Coach Taggart and the staff are hoping to make Philpott the second commit in the 2015 class for the Bulls - joining the electrifying running back Marquise Bryant out of Dunbar High School in Ft. Myers.
