After enrolling at Milton Academy in New York for a single semester, 2013 Bulls signee Eric Mayes will be returning home to enroll at the University of South Florida.
After signing with the South Florida
Bulls in 2013, former Sarasota Booker defensive Eric Mayes
had his enrollment delayed to USF by an entrance exam score, but was confident he would be able to join the Bulls for their spring semester.
Well on Friday morning, USFNation.com learned that Mayes' confidence paid off after the gifted defensive end from Milton Academy in New York has decided to return home to the Sunshine State to reserve a seat on Willie Taggart's bus in Tampa Bay.
The 6-foot-5, 260-pound physically imposing defensive lineman has recorded four sacks and a forced fumble in 2013 for Milton.
Before choosing the Bulls in high school, Mayes garnered offers from Missouri, Purdue, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa State, Kentucky and West Virginia.
Mayes becomes the 19th commitment in South Florida's 2014 class.
