Wisdom Relishes His Time In Tampa Bay

Over the weekend, 3-star Hollywood (Fla.) McArthur defensive back Malik Wisdom and his father took a trip up north to check out the South Florida Bulls. Is an offer on the way for Wisdom? USFNation.com has all the details.

A gem in the rough, 2015 Hollywood (Fla.) McArthur cornerback Malik Wisdom has been a solid contributor to the 4-4 Mustangs with three interceptions on the year. Wisdom, who's being courted as a defensive back by numerous schools, is also a standout kicker with a long of 41 yards on the year.

With over a year until signing day for the McArthur athlete, Wisdom holds a single offer from Florida International and is receiving heavy interest from South Florida, Florida State, Wisconsin, Kentucky and North Carolina State.

Over the weekend, Wisdom and his father made the trip up from Broward County to check out the South Florida Bulls take on the Louisville Cardinals during their homecoming weekend.

"The visit went well and it was a great experience at the game," Wisdom said. "Coach (Eric) Mathies and (Ron) Cooper are the ones recruiting me. Just getting on the field as early as possible is what they're saying to recruit me."

Is Wisdom on the verge of receiving a Bulls offer?

"They (coaches) said I have to send my game film to them, which I did the day after," Wisdom said. "They said they'll decide whether to offer me or not."

Academics will play a big role in the decision making process for Wisdom.

"Good academics - I would like to major in mechanical engineering," Wisdom said. "That's a thing I'm going to look into and see if they offer that."

The 5-foot-10, 180-pound athlete is ranked the 34th best cornerback in the country and a 3-star prospect by Scout.com.
