South Florida Downs Bethune-Cookman 91-65

South Florida downed instate foe Bethune-Cookman and improved to 2-0 on Tuesday night by the score of 91-65 behind Corey Allen Jr.'s near triple-double.

TAMPA BAY, FL--- If you thought South Florida's offense would stall with the absence of Preseason All AAC point guard Anthony Collins on Tuesday, you thought wrong.

Junior-College transfer and Bulls' first year point guard Corey Allen Jr. filled the shoes of Collins for the second straight game and flirted with a triple-double inside the Sun Dome on Tuesday night.

In the 91-65 win, Allen Jr. registered an astounding 21 points, nine assists, seven rebounds, three steals and two blocks. The Bulls were outrebounded on the night 43-42, but had 11 steals to Bethune-Cookman's two.

Reigning AAC Rookie of the Week and Bulls' freshman Chris Perry led USF on the defensive end with four blocks, but finished with 13 points and four rebounds as well off the bench.

Highflying 6-foot-9 forward Victor Rudd struggled at times with his shot, but as usual, got the fans inside the Sun Dome on their feet with his acrobatic dunks. The senior finished with 14 points, two rebounds and four assists.

Bethune-Cookman shot just 29.2% from the field in the contest and racked up 18 turnovers as well.

The Bulls will hit the road for the first time this season when they visit Bowling Green out of the Mid-American Conference on Friday at 8:30 p.m.
