Allen Jr. Makes AAC Weekly Honor Roll

First year South Florida guard Corey Allen Jr. was one of five student-athletes to make the American Athletic Conference honor roll this week.

TAMPA BAY, FL---After two remarkable performances starting in place for All-AAC Preseason Second Team guard Anthony Collins, first year South Florida guard Corey Allen Jr. was named to the American Athletic Conference Honor Roll on Monday.

The 6-foot Junior-College transfer averaged 20 points, seven rebounds and six assists this week in the Bulls' two victories. In a 91-65 victory over Bethune-Cookman, Allen Jr. was dominant with 21 points, nine assists, seven rebounds, three steals and two blocks. In their first road contest of the year against Bowling Green on Saturday, Allen Jr. carried over his strong play and finished with 19 points, seven rebounds and three assists in the 75-61 win.

Over the two game span, Allen Jr. was a perfect 7-of-7 from the line, as well as 83.3% from 3-point rage and 70% overall from the field. Among those who made the honor roll are Louisville's Russ Smith, Cincinnati's Titus Rubles, SMU's Nic Moore and Connecticut's Shabazz Napier.
