USF In Top Three For Vero Beach Playmaker

With his senior season coming to a close last week, Vero Beach (Fla.) standout Will Dawkins turns his focus to recruiting and USFNation caught up with him for the details.

After suffering a heartbreaking loss to the hands of national powerhouse Bradenton (Fla.) Manatee in the regional quarterfinals on Friday night, Will Dawkins' high school career has come to an end and he'll now focus his attention to his recruitment.

The 6-foot, 180-pound 3-star prospect's big-play ability at the wide receiver position has earned him offers from Michigan State, Louisville, Ohio State, South Florida, North Carolina State and South Carolina amongst others.

One school that's made Dawkins feel like a priority for their team's future success going forward has been the South Florida Bulls.

"Their (USF) coaching staff is really cool," Dawkins said. "I talk to their receivers coach (David Reaves) a lot. He keeps everything real. I'm just looking for a school with good coaching. They seem like a good school that feels like you're family there. They've been reaching out and showing me a lot of love."

Dawkins has no dates set in stone for future visits, but has a duo of schools in mind.

"I plan to visit Ohio State and maybe USF," Dawkins said. "I don't have any set dates right now."

With Signing Day approaching in less than three months, does the Vero Beach star have a leader in his recruitment?

"Well, Michigan State, Ohio State and USF are the ones that are sticking out to me for a top three."
