USF Survives Scare, Take Down Stetson 72-63

The South Florida Bulls stayed on track Friday night by beating winless Stetson University 72-63 inside the Sun Dome and improve to 4-0 on the season.

TAMPA BAY, FL---- Thanks to a late surge by first year standout guard Corey Allen Jr., South Florida survived a scare on Friday by beating Stetson University 72-63.

The first year Junior-College point guard scored the Bulls last eight point of the contest and finished with 19 points, six steals, four rebounds and two assists overall for the game. Allen Jr. has scored at least 19 points in the last three games against Stetson, Bethune-Cookman and Bowling Green.

Two Stetson players fouled out in the game and they contributed to 23 team fouls to USF's 13 for the game. Pre-season all-conference point guard Anthony Collins started alongside Allen Jr. and plays his part as well. The stud point guard finished with 15 points, six assists, three rebounds and a steal.

High-flying athletic big men, John Egbunu and Victor Rudd, combined for five blocks and just three personal fouls combined leading the way on defense.

The Bulls improve to 4-0 for the first time since 2006 and go back to work on Monday against All-American point guard Marcus Smart and the seventh ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys inside the Sun Dome at 7:00.
