USF in Hot Pursuit For Fort Lauderdale RB

Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) University School running back LaJuan Hunt has officially de-committed from Air Force, and USF is making a very strong push for the talented ball carrier. Will the Bulls get an official visit?

Over the weekend, Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) University School senior running back LaJuan Hunt de-committed from Air Force and reopened his recruitment.

"I de-committed from Air Force on Saturday," Hunt said. "I just wanted to explore my options. I wasn't sure if I really wanted to go there."

The first school to make contact with the 5-foot-9, 195-pound playmaker since de-committing over the weekend was defensive line coach Eric Mathis and the South Florida Bulls.

"Since I de-committed, they (USF) were the first school to hit me up," Hunt said. "Yeah, we're talking a lot now. Coach Mathis, the defensive line coach, is recruiting me really hard. I don't have an offer right now, but I feel one coming soon. I'm definitely going to set up a visit to USF in the next couple weeks."

For his senior year, Hunt accounted for more than 700 total yards and 13 touchdowns splitting time at running back and wide receiver.
