South Florida failed to improve to 9-3 on the season after losing to Mississippi State on Sunday night by the score of 71-66.

LAS VEGAS---South Florida's highflying senior forward Victor Rudd racked up his third consecutive double-double, but the Bulls fell to 8-3 on the season after losing to the Mississippi State Bulldogs on Sunday night by the score of 71-66 in the Continental Tire Las Vegas Classic.

The Bulls committed a season high 18 turnovers on the night and trailed the entire second half in Las Vegas. Stan Heath' squad led early on, but a 26-10 run guided the Bulldogs to a win. Guard Anthony Collins was held out of action due to a lingering knee injury that's been bothering him all season, and doesn't expect to play against Santa Clara on Monday night either.

Victor Rudd led the Bulls with 17 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks on 7-of-15 shooting, including a season high three made three-pointers. Freshman forward Chris Perry was also efficient in the front court and finished with 14 points and nine rebounds on 6-of-10 shooting.

The Bulls play in the third place game of the Continental Tire Las Vegas Classic on Monday night at 8:00 against Santa Clara, and it can be seen on CBSSN.
