Dillon Stays Instate, Commits to USF!

South Florida picked up their third tight end of the 2014 class when Ocala (Fla.) Vanguard tight end Elkanah Dillon gave his pledge to the Bulls!

Already possessing commitments from stud tight end's Marlon Pope and Nick Nataro, the South Florida Bulls picked up their third tight end in the 2014 class after Ocala (Fla.) Vanguard tight end Elkanah Dillon issued his pledge to Willie Taggart and the Bulls.

"It came down to me possibly earning early playing time and it's obviously very close to home," Dillon said. "They just told me to work hard and compete once I get to campus."

As excited as Dillon was when he made one of the biggest decisions of his life, the Bulls' coaching staff was just as excited to receive another building block right before the new year.

"I first spoke with coach Wells (offensive coordinator) and then coach Taggart," Dillon said. "The coaching staff was very excited."

The 6-foot-5, 225-pound pass catching tight end didn't start playing football until the 10th grade, and choose the Bulls over Wisconsin, UAB, Kentucky, Florida and more.

In 2013, Dillon caught 45 passes for 596 yards and six touchdowns for the 5-5 Knights.
