USF's Rocky the Bull Wins Mascot Challenge

On Wednesday, South Florida mascot, Rocky the Bull, was named the winner of the Capital One Mascot Challenge.

TAMPA BAY, FL.---Edging out mascots from Ohio State, Michigan State, Oregon, Texas and more, South Florida mascot, Rocky the Bull, was named the winner of the Capital One Mascot Challenge on Wednesday to start off the new year with a bang for the Bulls.

Rocky squared off with Texas Tech's Raider Red in the finals from Dec. 9 - Dec. 15, and the winner was announced at halftime of the Capital One Bowl this afternoon in Orlando. Since the Mascot challenge started back in August, Rocky went undefeated throughout the year to come out on top.

The University of South Florida will celebrate the victory at 5 p.m. inside the Lee Roy Selmon Athletics Center. Those invited include USF System President Judy Genshaft, Director of Athletics Doug Woolard, Head Football Coach Willie Taggart, Men's Basketball Coach Stan Heath, and of course, Rocky the Bull.
