A Wait and See Approach for Flowers

With a few key coaching departures in Tampa Bay at the University of South Florida, Miami (Fla.) Jackson quarterback, Quinton Flowers, updates his recruitment with USFNation.com

After naming San Francisco 49ers assistant coach, Paul Wulff, the next offensive coordinator for Willie Taggart and the South Florida Bulls, Miami (Fla.) Jackson quarterback and Bulls' commit, Quinton Flowers, doesn't have much familiarity with the former Washington State coach, but is eager to build a relationship with his future play caller.

"I'm not too sure where I stand (with USF) right now," Flowers said. "I haven't met the coach (Paul Wulff), but I'm supposed to be going up there next week to meet him. I'll have to see how that works out."

One of many headliners in the Bulls' 2014 recruiting class, coach Taggart and his staff understand how important the Miami Jackson's commitment is for their future success.

"Only one coach has contacted me from USF," Flowers said. "Coach (Telly) Lockette (running backs) and I have been talking a lot. He's been telling me the same things. I just need to get up there to see how it is with the new offensive coordinator. Right now, I'm probably 70 or 80 percent that I'll be going there (USF).

Flowers will be visiting the Bulls on Jan. 17, as well as the Florida Gators on Jan. 24. On a 5-5 Miami Jackson team, Flowers accounted for 1,349 yards through the air, while rushing for 641 yards and 10 touchdowns, providing a dual-threat for Miami Jackson.
