USF Makes Bronson's Final Two Schools

Over the weekend, Delray Beach (Fla.) Village Academy defensive end, Kevin Bronson, took his second official visit to the University of South Florida and came away impressed. Bronson is down to two schools following the visit.

Currently holding scholarship offers from the likes of Florida, Rutgers, South Florida, Virginia Tech, Nebraska, South Carolina and UCF, Delray Beach (Fla.) Village Academy defensive end, Kevin Bronson, took his second official visit to the University of South Florida over the weekend.

Bronson took a visit to Tampa Bay in the beginning of the season for one of the Bulls' home games, but had more time to learn about Willie Taggart's program this time around.

"I arrived on Friday at 2:15 in the afternoon," Bronson said. "Mike Love (defensive lineman) was my host and I enjoyed my visit. It feels like home when I'm at USF. Coach (Willie) Taggart is a good guy and I like everything about him. I'm really considering USF."

While Bronson sat and watched the Bulls on the gridiron in the early part of the season, this time around, the defensive lineman spent his time having fun with Tampa Bay's fun activities that surround the nearby area.

"We did a lot of things this weekend," Bronson said. "We had dinner on a cruise, went to Busch Gardens, played laser tag with the coaches, went to the basketball game on Saturday night, and had a good time out with my host. It was a great visit. My favorite part was sitting down with coach Taggart and talking."

The Bulls' coaching staff wants to add depth and skill along the defensive line moving forward. With Bronson's skill package, the coaching staff has made him a priority.

"The coaching staff has mentioned that they need a player like me," Bronson said. "Coach (Eric) Mathis (defensive line) is the one recruiting me at USF."

The 6-foot-3, 245-pound defensive lineman still has visits set to Virginia Tech for Jan. 24, and Nebraska on Jan. 31, but that could change. After such a strong impression from the Bulls' coaching staff from over the weekend, Bronson could be inching closer to making a decision.

"My top two are Virginia Tech and USF," Bronson said. "My decision is getting closer. It will maybe be a week after my Virginia Tech visit."

Bronson says his final two schools under consideration are Virginia Tech and South Florida, but says he's not sure if he'll follow through with his visit to Nebraska at the end of the month.
