Immokalee RB Recaps South Florida Visit

Immokalee (Fla.) running back, D'Ernest Johnson, took an official visit to South Florida over the weekend with high school teammate and Bulls' commit, Jimmy Bayes. When does Johnson plan to announce his final college decision?

With teammate and best friend, Jimmy Bayes, committed to the South Florida Bulls, Immokalee (Fla.) running back, D'Ernest Johnson, has been courted by the instate team out of Tampa Bay for quite some time. The 5-foot-10, 190-pound running back made his way to Hillsborough County over the weekend to take his second official visit, and had a wonderful time in his stay.

"I really had a good time," Johnson said. "It was a good visit and my host was wide receiver, Chris Dunkley. We had a good time and chilled most of the time. You know how the coaches are. They want you to come to their school, so they said some good things. The coaches were just saying I could get early playing time, and it's a family based school. My favorite part was just hanging out with the boys."

While many believed that Louisville was out of the picture for the running back after Charlie Strong bolted for the University of Texas, that is certainly not the case.

"I'm just taking everything slow right now," Johnson said. "I plan on visiting Louisville on the 24th, and maybe Texas.

With Signing Day three weeks away, those are the three schools are under top consideration for the Immokalee running back.

"USF, Louisville and Texas are the main ones."

Moving forward, Johnson doesn't plan to announce his college decision until the last moment.

"I'm going to announce my decision on Signing Day," Johnson said. "It was a good visit."
