The emergence of Marlon Mack during his freshman campaign served as one of the lone bright spots for South Florida football throughout the 2014 season. Now, the second year running back is being recognized nationally as Mack was named to 2015 Maxwell Award Watch List as one of the top offensive college football players in the nation.
Mack’s dynamic freshman campaign landed him the honor of being named AAC Rookie of the Year this past season. Posting 1,041 yards and 9 TDs throughout the 2014 season, Bulls fans are anticipation for what the young phenom can accomplish throughout the rest of his tenure at USF.
Introduced in 1937 in honor of Robert W. “Tiny” Maxwell, the Maxwell Award is given to nation’s top college football player at the end of the year by the Maxwell Football Club. Along with Mack, 79 of the nation’s top offensive players were included on the list including the likes of TCU’s Trevone Boykin, Michigan State’s Connor Cook, Mississippi State’s Dak Prescott, and Ohio State defending national champions J.T. Barrett, Ezekiel Elliot, Cardale Jones, and Braxton Miller. Marlon Mack has certainly been placed amongst esteemed company and will look have yet another standout season in 2015.
