Ocala Standout Talks Up Bulls

Last Saturday Ocala Trinity Catholic quarterback John Brantley made an unofficial visit to check out the Bulls new facility and campus. USFnation.com talks with Brantley about the visit, his offers, and when he's going to pull the trigger on what school he will attend.

Last season John Brantley the 6-foot-3 180 pound quarterback from Ocala split time at the QB position with another senior. He still managed to amass 1,200 yards and 16 TD's. Brantley is a dual threat QB with a strong arm and 4.64 speed. Although he is a pocket passer he is no stranger to getting out and throwing on the run.

Although Brantley was on campus Saturday he did not attend the one-day camp held at USF. He was there specifically to see what the Bulls have to offer.

"I'd say the visit went well, we walked around campus and saw the facilities." Adding, "I thought the campus was very nice and was impressed by the size of the facility."

Brantley on the amount of interest he has received from USF:

"They like me a lot, and I'm really interested in USF too."

Although USF has not offered, he feels the offer may come soon and if it does Brantley will take it seriously. As of now he has three total offers including Illinois and North Carolina State.

As far as a timeline on picking a school here is what Brantley had to say:

"I really want to wait till the season is over to weigh all my options." Adding, "However, as soon as the season is over I'm going to sit down and really look at everything. I hope USF is there in the end because I like them a lot."

"Which ever school I choose, it will be based on playing time and academics. My sister recently transferred from a small school and now attends USF. I talk with her about the academics there all the time."

As long as USF stays on top of Brantley throughout his senior year, they have a great chance of landing him. With Brantley's size and speed he could bring some intangibles to the QB position at South Florida.
