USF Still Number One

See what the defensive tackle has to say about where the Bulls stand and what he has been doing over the summer.

At the recent USF vs. FAMU game I had a chance to talk with Justin Jenkins, DT from Edgewater. Most USF fans should remember him as the first commitment of the 2006 class, who a week later backed off his verbal commitment. Jenkins is on record saying that he committed too early, without talking with family and friends. There are no hard feelings from the team either, all the coaches I have talked to agree that he should take advantage of his recruitment. Here is what Jenkins told USFnation on Saturday:

USFnation: How's your season going?
JJ: Right now I'm doing pretty well, I'm coming off a suspension for the first 2 games, I got into a little trouble, but I played yesterday, and got things going with 7 tackles and forced a fumble on the 10 yrd line that we recovered , and won the game with a field goal and we won 18-15.

USFnation: how did your summer go? What camps did you attend?
JJ: summer was great, I attended USF, UF, UG, everything ended up pretty well, I look forward to coming to USF, and hopefully getting a chance to play.

USFnation: How is the recruiting process going, now that you de-committed from USF? Where are you at right now? JJ: Things have picked up a little bit, but USF is still at the top of the list, and I look forward to coming here and playing, USF, UF, UG are my top 3, but USF is at the top, their still #1 USFnation: So USF is still in contention?
JJ: They are still # 1, I just wanted to take all my official visits and live the real recruiting experience up.

USFnation: The next time you make a decision will it be a final one?
JJ: It will be a final one, the next time you get a verbal commitment from Justin Jenkins, it will be Solid.

My opinion is that Jenkins ends up a Bull when all is done. He is a very good player, but from what I am hearing the offers from UF and UGA are not coming. This is fine with USF as they will land a very good defensive lineman.
