Bulls Extend the UCF streak to 17

So much for The War-On-I4, the first match up of these two Florida teams ended in a lopsided 31-14 win for the Bulls, and it also showed a lot of fans that these two programs are not at the same level. While both are improving, USF is years ahead of their friends to the east.

USF got things rolling early. As in every game Andre Hall is the key to the offense and the game. When he is on there is virtually no stopping this offense. He brings much more than just his running style to this young Bulls team. His teammates feed off of his excitement and success. Against UCF, Hall broke through mid-way through the first quarter. Led by Quarterback Pat Julmiste the Bulls put up the first points on a 11 play 84 play drive that consumed four and a half minutes and was capped by a 1-yard Andre Hall burst into the end zone.

"I was expecting to be able to run the ball against them." Adding, "the offense line moved the pile pretty good tonight."

Hall's TD was the first points in what turned out to be a 31-14 blowout by the USF Bulls. Hall finished the game with 155 rushing yards and caught two balls for 34 yards, including a 26 yard pass from Pat Julmiste.

Not only could the offense score at will in the first half, but the defense dominated the line of scrimmage. The constant pressure from the USF defensive line forced UCF's quarterback, Steven Moffett into long third downs and poor passes. The UCF ground game was also shut down, only gaining 45 yards the entire night.

Moffett did throw for 208-yards, but most of those came when the bulls had a 28 point lead. Julmiste also had a successful game through the air. The numbers may not show it but he did what was needed to win the game.

"I played pretty good today" Julmiste said he played solid but had a couple mental mistakes, "they are all correctable, and we just have to move on and get ready for Louisville."

He may say that the team is just going to move on but I have a feeling they will soak this one in for at least a day or two.

"This was a very emotional game, the crowd was so loud I had to quiet them down a little bit tonight."

Hall also got some added incentive in beating their "so called" rival.

"Everyone remembers the first time you beat a team like this, we have been waiting for this game for a while. It means a lot to get a victory."

Not only did the Bulls get a victory, they also sent a message to those that thought this would turn into a rivalry at the same level as some other Florida schools. Maybe next year the game will be a little closer, but as far as this year goes, the Bulls did exactly what they expected and now its time to move on and take down the big boys, Louisville then on to Miami.
