Lately all the talk about offensive line recruits has been around local standout Daron Rose. However, the Bulls recently offered a kid they think may fly under the radar of the Big Three. His name is Hector Hernandez from Naples High School. Hernandez is 6-foot-5, 285 pounds and plays left tackle. This season his team is 3-2 and he has not allowed a sack thus far.
Hernandez prides himself in pass blocking, but also likes to get off the line and hit the linebackers.
"In our team's scheme, I get to move around a lot and beat up on the linebackers." Hernandez said.
Last week he received the offer from USF Coach Carl Franks. The Bulls are looking to add a couple aggressive linemen this recruiting season. As of now Hernandez is looking at four schools.
"I'm looking at Clemson, USF, UF, and Oklahoma" Hernandez added, "the only offer I have is from USF."
He thinks he will be able to make a decision by late January.
"I will probably decide a few weeks before signing day." Adding, "My factors will be playing time, coaching, competition of the opposing teams, and the teams bowl capabilities."
Hernandez also said he is looking to make a visit to USF sometime in January but he's not sure when or even if it will happen. USFnation will keep you updated on whether or not he makes his visit.
