Life must go on once Andre Hall graduates and that's why USF is going after Brandon James of Saint Augustine. James is a shifty speed back, at 5-foot-7 175 pounds, he runs a 4.5 40. This year his team is off to a 7-0 start with a big win over Nease last week. James himself is also having a big year – he has amassed over 790 yards rushing with 11 rushing touchdowns. He also has a passing, receiving and punt return touchdown – bringing his total on the season to 14. As of now he says the three schools that are recruiting him the hardest are Penn State, Louisville and South Carolina. However, USF is not far behind.
"I talk with Coach Dawsey quite a bit." James added, "I like the school, I think the move to the Big East is good, especially since they are a BCS team now. I also saw the win over Louisville. I definitely want to keep an eye on them and see how they finish out the season."
James is not sure when he will make his official visits. As of now he has not taken any.
"I will take all 5, I'm just not sure when." James said, "I will probably wait till the season is over and spread them out between November and early January."
When he does make his decision it will be based on three factors.
"Academics is the most important to me then it will come down to how I fit in with the program, and lastly will probably be playing time."
Overall this would be a great addition for the Bulls, James is a fast back who has the potential to break a run on any play. He also has great hands, which would make him a dual threat like Hall is currently for the Bulls. I have a feeling James is focusing more on his team than his personal recruitment. That shows a lot about his character and that he just loves to play football. He knows the offers will still be there after the season and he will sort it all out in a month or so.
