Bulls In Top 3 For Tampa WR

Tampa wide reciever lists the Bulls in his top 3 along with another team from the Big East and an in-state opponent. Read on to find out who the other teams are and what he likes about USF. Also find out when he plans to come to Raymond James to see USF in action.

With the slew of receivers USF currently has they will probably only look to sign one this off-season. That means that they will be picky when it comes to choosing a wideout, and near the top of their list would be 6-foot-4 WR Carlton Mitchell. Mitchell is a senior at Gaither High School, who has led his team to a 5-2 record. This week his team will be on the road in a huge division game against undefeated Land O' Lakes.

Through seven games this year Mitchell has 23 catches for about 500 yards and 4 touchdowns.

"I've done real good this year." Says Mitchell, "But I'm just concentrating on this weeks game."

Carlton credits his success to his size, speed and jumping abilities.

"I can beat a corner down the field or out-jump him."

With that kind of size and speed in the 4.4-4.5 range its no wonder he has 9 offers from division one schools.

"The two major offers I'm really considering are West Virginia and USF." Mitchell added, "Miami hasn't offered yet but I think the coaches are coming to see me play soon and I might get an offer then."

When did USF offer?
"They offered me when I was there for camp over the summer."

Which coach offered you?

"I was invited over to where they were all standing, and they told me I had an offer. There were actually like 5 coaches there at the time." What are your thoughts on USF?

"I like them a lot." Adding, "I think they will be a great team in a year or so. I've seen them play a couple times this year and I know a lot about them."
BR> Will you be at the West Virginia game this weekend?

"Oh yeah, I'm looking forward to that one. I think it will be a great game."

When do you expect to make a decision?

"I'm going to sit down with my mom and my coach after I make a couple visits and decide. It will probably be a few weeks before signing day."

Do you have a top 3 or top 5?

"Yes, right now it would be USF, West Virginia and Miami. Not in any order but Miami hasn't offered yet so they would be third."

Needless to say this will be a big weekend for the Bulls. Mitchell will be on hand along with about a dozen other prospects. I feel he is a good fit for the Bulls because the coaches like receiver built in his mold. It will be interesting to see if anything changes after this weekend, USFnation will follow up and see how Mitchell feels after his top two teams face off at Raymond James.
