Bulls nab Second Commit With Lincoln HS Ties

Busy Bulls get their fouth commit of the day Wednesday, This time they get Linebacker James Jackson who played JUCO ball, and also played at Lincoln High School in Tallahasse. Read on to find out all the details.

DL/LB James Jackson, who played at Santa Monica Community College and also went to Lincoln High School in Tallahasse (FLA.), committed to the Bulls on Wednesday. Here is what he had to say about his decision.

Why did you choose USF?

" I chose South Florida because they will let me come down to play defense, I looked at FSU, but they wanted me to play fullback, and I really want to play defense either on the Defensive line or at Linebacker

How did it all go down?

"The South Florida coaches (Leavitt & Burnham)were in town to see see a few players from Lincoln, and Coach Collin showed them my tapes, they said they were impressed with my athleticism, then they offered, and I accepted."

How do you feel about your decision?

"I feel real good about my decision, I have no regrets, Tampa is a real good place, and I think this is a real good opportunity for me to show what I got."

How are your grades?

" I have a 2.16 GPA, and I have another semester at TCC"

What were your season stats?

"I havn't played football since last season at Santa Monica Community College, where I played linebacker, I had 100 tackles, 56 for a loss, 4 sacks, and 2 blocked kicks"

What are you going to do in the off-season to keep in shape?

"Work out with my old coach, hit the weight room, and run a lot, Right now I'm at 250 but coach leavitt wants me at 260-265, which won't be a problem"

When are you coming to USF?

"Probably in the summer"

So you feel good about your commitment to USF?

"Oh yeah, real good"
