South Florida center Solomon Jones was reconized by the league for his effort against Florida Atlantic at the USF Sun Dome on Friday. Jones who led all players with 40 minutes played, also led all players with 17 points, 15 rebounds, and six blocks in the Bulls win over Florida Atlantic.
Jones in his second year with USF, leads the Bulls with 9.9 Rebounds per game, 4.0 blocks per game, and is second on the team with 14.0 points per game. Jones six blocks against Florida Atlantic moved him into fourth place on the school's all-time list. That gave him 98 for his USF career.
The BIG EAST announced that Syracuse guard Gerry McNamara was named BIG EAST Player of the Week, while Cincinnati guard Devan Downey earns Rookie of the Week honors. Jones was named to the BIG EAST weekly Honor Roll.
