USF Tops List For Big DE

With three defensive ends graduating this year, the Bulls will look to fill that need in recruiting. South Florida already has one D-End committed and are looking hard at Craig Marshall from Fort Walton Beach. Read on to find out where USF stands and if he plans on taking a visit.

Craig Marshall is a big man, standing at 6-foot-5, 217 pounds. He is a three star defensive end who runs a 4.7 40. Marshall said he had 4 sacks last year and 2 forced fumbles, but he didn't know any of his other stats because he said he doesn't worry about the numbers. He's a tough player and that's what USF likes about him. Marshall describes himself as a speed rusher that can play either end position, but he prefers to rush off the left side.

"Right now I'm down to only two schools, South Florida and Alabama" says Marshall "I visit USF this weekend."

Marshal likes USF because he was originally from here and still has a family in the Tampa Bay area. He also said USF is his only visit he has planned right now.

"I've followed USF through the year. I watched the West Virginia game and the bowl game." Adding, "I like what they are doing, and the direction they are headed. Getting to a bowl game was a big step-up for them."

When it comes down to making a decision Marshall says two factors will make his decision. One, is he wants to do what's best for him and his family. Two, he wants to be in a place he can succeed academically. Marshall said he is hoping to major in Business.

USFnation.com will do a follow-up interview with Craig Marshall this weekend to see how his official visit with USF went. Be sure to check back.
