Edner Alcin of Chamberlain High School in Tampa (FLA) chose to stay close to home and play for the University of South Florida. USFnation.com reported yesterday that if a decision didn't come quickly the Bulls were going to have to go in another direction. Well, the decision is in and Edner will officially be a member of the USF family when he signs on the dotted line next wednesday.
Alcin says he chose USF becuase of the feeling he got when he was on his official visit.
"They are an up and coming program, its close to home and the coaches and players were easy to get along with."
Now that football season is over Alcin says he'll begin training for the off-season.
"I want to put on about 15 pounds and get up to 190 by the fall. Right now I am working out and running track. I basically just want to get bigger and faster."
It would be hard to get any faster than Alcin already is, boasting a 4.4 40 time.
Alcin is already qualified with a 2.6 GPA and a score of 1370 on his SAT.
