Thursday's Practice Report

The Bulls lose another key offensive lineman to injury and quarterback Carlton Hill misses his third practice. Inside today's practice report is a breakdown from 7-on-7's and the scrimmage. Also find out what recruits and coaches were spotted on the sidelines. - Get it First, Get it Fast!

Carlton Hill missed his third practice of the spring today. Once again it's believed to be because of academic reasons. Even though these absences are excused, it's going to take a toll on his development. In the end its better that he works on his grades rather than being dismissed for failing classes.

Today's practice was the most uneventful thus far. The team spent a majority of time doing walk-through's. Most likely they were adding new plays and needed time to introduce them.

Here are the practice notes from today's workout:

General Practice Notes
Marc Dile (knee) dressed, but did not participate in any drills.

Carlton Hill and Jackie Chambers missed practice (academics).

Julian Riley worked exclusively with the defensive line.

No board drills today, much to everyone's disappointment.

Carlton Williams told us he expects to be back in action next Tuesday.

Today's starting offensive line was Danny Tolley, Matt Huners, Jake Griffin, Walter Walker, Jerome Springfield.

Today's starting defensive line was George Selvie, Allen Cray, Woody George, Josh Julmiste.

Jerome Springfield injured his left knee during a scrimmage at the end of practice. He was on the ground for two minutes before limping off.

Running Drill
The defense dominated again with strong play from Woody George and Richard Clebert. Both were regulars in the offensive backfield and if they didn't make the tackle they at least disrupted the play until the linebackers could get there. George Selvie also played well coming off the end. His backside pursuit shutdown any cutback attempt by the ball carrier. Louis Gachette also had a couple nice hits.

Pat Julmiste- 7 of 10. Completed a couple passes to the wide-outs, but mostly kept it short.

Matt Grothe-8 of 11. Matt looked good, he sat out a few plays with a sore elbow. Its nothing major, just a little "camp" elbow, probably because he hasn't thrown this much in a while.

Amarri Jackson had a couple catches including a 25 yard catch over the safety.

For the third day in a row Patrick St. Louis tried to take Amp Hill's head off on an out route. However this time he was a step late and could only push him out of bounds.

Today's scrimmage was short, each quarterback got to lead his offense from the 20 yard line, and the series was over if they couldn't move the chains. Pat Julmiste got the ball to the other teams 30 and Grothe went 4-and-out. The highlight came on an Amarri Jackson 40 yard catch down the sidelines. PJ threw a perfect deep ball for the big play.

Jerome Murphy and Patrick St Louis sacked Grothe on his first play.

Tavarious Robinson played with the second team.

Coach Leavitt was calling penalties and caught Jarriett Buie for "illegal hands to the face", he even did the handsignals.

Ponton only had one rush for 5 yards, but he broke 3 tackles.

With Pinellas county on spring break this week, coaches from Seminole, Pinellas Park and Lakewood Ranch were on hand.

Lakewood Ranch tight end Brandon Choy was also there.
