USF Assistant Coach Julius Allen Leaves

TAMPA, Fla. – University of South Florida assistant men's basketball coach Julius Allen has decided to leave the program in order to move closer to his native New York area, head coach Robert McCullum announced.

"I truly enjoyed my time at USF," Allen said. "I worked with some great people and I really believe the program is going to develop into one of the best in the BIG EAST."

Allen spent each of the last two seasons with the Bulls after working for one year (2003-04) at Howard University in Washington, D.C. A native of the Bronx, N.Y., Allen played one season at Oregon State (1978-79) and Southern Nazarene (1980-81) after a stop at the junior college ranks.

"We certainly respect Julius' desire to move closer to home," McCullum said. "We appreciate his contributions to the program and wish him the best of luck in the future."
