Will DE Follow Teammate Joseph Jackson to USF

Martin Wright from Booker T. Washington High School in Miami opened some eyes last weekend at the Scout.com combine. Afterward he talked with USFNation about his former teammate Joseph Jackson, his strengths and what offers he currently has. Read on for the entire story.

With all the talent in the Miami/Dade area it's easy for a recruit to get over-looked, and that's exactly what is happening right now to Martin Wright of Booker T. Washington. At 6-foot-3 192 pounds, Wright is a pass rushing specialist boasting a 4.72 40 time. However, he has yet to start a game in high school due to the fact he has been playing behind future Bull Joseph Jackson. Jackson dominated the position last year, but now that he's graduated it's Wright's time to shine and that's exactly what he plans to do.

Wright was virtually unstoppable in one-on-one drills at the Scout.com combine in Boca Raton. He used his speed to get to the QB, but he also showed his versatility by mixing in a swim move just when the linemen thought they had him figured out.

"My strengths are flying off the ball, my rip move and the swim move." Wright also says he has much more to learn and hopes the camps and combines he's been attending will help his overall game.

The person who has been helping him the most is former teammate and soon-to-be USF Bull, Joseph Jackson.

"We talk almost everyday." Says Wright "I'm young and still have a lot to learn, so he teaches me little things like moves and stuff like that."

With only one offer, (Memphis) Wright is flying under the radar of the major colleges. However, USF could have an inside track because he and Jackson are such good friends. Wright might be a guy who catches the eye of the USF staff because of his all-around athleticism. The only knock on him is his weight, but he told USFNation that he's lost several pounds for track. When asked if the Bulls have show interest, he said with a smile, "not yet……but they will."
