USFNation: How has the QB battle gone this summer?

Matt Grothe: Good. Its been going back and forth these past few weeks.

USFN: How do you feel you did?

MG: I think I did good. Started off a little slow but ended up doing well. I had a few bad days at the start, but I got into my rhythm and finished strong.

USFN: What did you improve upon the most?

MG: Just getting everything down and learning more and more everyday.

USFN: How was it competing everyday with Pat Julmiste?

MG: It was fun. Me and Pat always have fun, we always talk. It doesn't even seem like we're competing for a starting job. We just talk like we've been longtime friends.

USFN: Are you excited for this season?

MG: I cant wait till Saturday. Its going to be a blast out there.

USFN: What are your personal goals for the upcoming season?

MG: I want to do the best I can. Help the team anyway I can and get this team back to another bowl game.
