Bulls Quarterback Matt Grothe on Playing UCF

USF quarterback Matt Grothe gets ready for his second career start at UCF this Saturday. See what the freshmen Bull has to say about the upcoming game in this exclusive interview. Only on USFNation.com!

Whether this weekend's game is a rivalry
MG:
"I think everyone just hypes it up as an in-state rivalry game. It is just another team who we need to come out and prepare for."

Whether he considered attending UCF prior to enrolling at USF
MG:
"It seemed like when everyone started to talk to me, it was all at once. They were not up at the top but it was something I was thinking about. At the same time, I was thinking about a lot of places, but once I ended up coming here I was not going to visit there."

Concerning what he needs to improve on
MG:
"I need to not think about everything so much. Basically just play and get my reads down better. Also stop trying to make stuff happen and just play."

Concerning what the team needs to do different for the UCF game
MG:
"We just have to play better. If we fix our mistakes, we will be fine."

Is there extra motivation for UCF?
MG:
"Yeah there is but I do not really look into it too much. I just try to play and go out and execute everything. If we play as well as we can, we will be fine. Yesterday at practice, the way some of the seniors were talking about how this is a big week and that we need to show everyone what we can do."
