USF in Top 3 for Dade RB

USFNation has brought you several names to add to the runningback pool for this years recruiting class. Now we have another, he's 5-foot-11, 175 pounds and is dominating the competition in Dade County. He also has a high amount of interest in the Bulls. Read on to find out who it is. Only on!

Warner, 5-foot-10 and 175 pounds, is having a tremendous senior season. He lines up at running back most of the time but he also plays a lot of wide receiver. He has 907 yards rushing and 10 scores and has caught 13 passes for 286 yards and two scores. His 1,193 total yards is just ahead of Northwestern's Antwain Easterling for tops in the county. He talked about the season he's having.

"I waited behind Terry (Williams) last year," he said of the starter in 2005. "I knew once I got my turn, I'd make the most of it. I worked on staying disciplined when running through the holes and I worked real hard so now I'm just going out there and having fun."

As for offers he's got plenty, including Kentucky, South Florida, Memphis and Louisiana-Lafayette to name a few. Lately Tennessee has been showing interest and could extend an offer.

Warner tells USFNation that not only does he like USF, but he has already set up an official visit with them on January 19th. It's the only visit he has scheduled, although he is working on Memphis and Tennessee.

"Coach (Rod) Smith from South Florida has been recruiting me for a while. I've been kind of following them all season. I like what the program has done."

His trip to Tampa in January will be his first since about the time he was 13. Warner is hoping to find out more about the academics at USF and get to know the staff a little better. He already has a qualifying SAT score and emphasized the importance of education as a factor in his decision.

Warner listed Tennessee, Memphis and South Florida as his three favorites. If the Bulls can land Warner he could be the crown to this year's class. He's a fast but patient back, who has great vision and good size.
