USF in Top Four for Florida Offensive Tackle

The Bulls are looking to add some offensive lineman to the class of 2007 and they'd love to land a tackle. Elvis Fisher fits the bill and he's got USF in his top four. Find out the lowdown on his top schools.

Offensive tackle Elvis Fisher mentioned last week that his favorite was Wake Forest. Much has happened in the short time since those comments.

"I got a call from Wake Forest the other night and they told me that they got a commitment from one of their other offensive line targets," said Fisher. "They said they didn't want to, but the way the numbers worked out they had to pull my offer. So obviously they're out of the picture right now."

Despite that bit of bad news the 6-5, 310-pound offensive tackle from St. Petersburg (Fl.) Catholic still has a few good offers.

"I'm very interested in four schools," he said. "South Florida, Missouri and NC State have offered and I like what I've heard from all of them. I'm also looking at Florida. I think there's a good chance they'll offer down the road, but it would probably be a while and it would depend on what some of the other guys they're recruiting decide to do."

Fisher has played on both sides of the ball for St. Petersburg Catholic. After a rough start his squad is 4-5 and riding a winning streak.

This is the time of year when many of the top prospects in the nation begin taking or setting up their official visits. What are Fisher's plans?

"The only official I have set up right now is to Missouri on December 8. I'll be there that entire weekend. They're having a great season so they'll be getting ready for a bowl game. I really want to take official visits to NC State and South Florida too, but I'm not sure when that's going to happen. Outside of that it's really up in the air."

Fisher mentioned that he speaks to coaches from the schools he is considering about once per week. He does not plan on making his decision until after he has finished taking his official visits.
