Cape Coral RB Clears Up Rumors

Rickey Anderson made a commitment to the University of South Florida recently but there's a catch to it and the Cape Coral High standout talked about it.

"I haven't set up any of my visits yet but I did make a commitment to South Florida," Rickey Anderson said. "I committed a few weeks ago."

There's a catch to that and the talented running back explained the situation.

"They have been recruiting me and they know I want to go there," he said. "They technically haven't offered me yet but they said as long as I start my rehab (for a knee injury he suffered earlier this season) and things go well, they will have a scholarship for me."

Anderson, who doesn't have any Division 1 scholarship offers yet, will start rehab on Monday. He's excited about his future.

"I actually just got off the phone with Coach Franks before you called," he said last night. "He knows my situation. It's up to me to put in the work now. Everything's straight and I plan on being there next year."

The talented running back spoke about why he wants to become a Bull.

"Nate (Allen) and TJ (Tarus Johnson) are there now," he said. "They said how much they like it and everything. The coaches and players were all very welcoming when I went up there."
