Richard Kelly 6-foot, 240 pounds. Why did you choose USF?
Richard Kelly: I chose USF mainly because it's close to home. Me, my mom and my family sat down and talked about it and decided this was the best thing, especially if I get home sick. Also the program is doing really good, and their going to do even better in the future. Also coach Burnham told me that the person who has led the team in rushing is the quarterback, so I think It's a good situation for me.

USFN: How long have the Bulls been recruiting you --who were involved?
Kelly:  They've been recruiting me since they seen me over last summer at their camp,  coach Burnham the defensive coordinator and coach Franks have been in contact with me.

USFN: How did you do this season?
Kelly:   I had 17 touchdowns this season with 1200 yards on 143 carries."

USFN: Have you been following the Bulls this season?
Kelly:  Their doing good, real good, they're a fun team to watch.

USFN: Did you see the West Virginia game?

Kelly:  Yeah I know a couple, I know Sam Miller and Ben Moffitt,.

USFN: What style of a runner back are you?
Kelly:  I'm probably more of a bruiser.

USFN: What style of offense do you like to run in?
Kelly:  I like the one back offense, we run a one back sometimes with me back there and I like that a lot.

USFN: What are some of your strengths and weaknesses as a Running back?
Kelly:  My strengths are probably my speed, my size, and my actual strength. My weaknesses?  Hmmm, if I had to say something then probably my agility, but it really isn't that bad, just something I could improve on some.

USFN: What's your 40 time?
Kelly: My best is a 4.5, but last time I got a timed, I was weighing 250lbs and ran a 4.6 at FSU this summer.

USFN: Is there a player on another level, college or pro that you model your game after?
Kelly:  Yeah, I'm a little bit like an Alstott, but I'm a lot faster then Alstott, and a much better blocker, I don't know, maybe a little more like Bo Jackson.

USFN: How are your grades?
Kelly:  I'm doing good I only need like 2 more points on my ACT, which I'm retaking this Saturday

USFN: When did you decide to go to USF?
Kelly:  I been leaning towards the Bulls for some time, but decided Sunday night after Coach Burnham and Franks sat down with me and my family that it was the best choice.

USFN: Have you been to USF?
Kelly:  Yeah I went to the Pitt game, and went to one of their one-day camps over the summer with a couple of players.

USFN: What other schools were showing you the most interest?
Kelly:  Besides USF, Florida State and Ole Miss were showing the most interest.

USFN: Are you sill planning on taking your visit to Florida State and Ole Miss?
Kelly:  No I don't think I'm going to go on those visits now.
