Joe Jones Names His Favorites

3-Star back Joe Jones talks with USFNation.com about his latest news regarding recruiting, who his favorites are and his visit schedule. Read on for the entire story.

With the possibility of 4-star recruit Mike Ford coming to USF, one might think that the staff is done recruiting quality backs. Think again. Since October the Bulls have been after South Broward's Joe Jones, the 6-foot 200 pound back was one of the best in south Florida this year, yet not many colleges have come knocking. Except USF who see's Jones as a gifted recruit who could play multiple positions.

As a senior, Jones finished his season with 98 carries for 948 yards and 18 touchdowns. He added 15 receptions for 285 yards and two scores. He also runs track and has outstanding speed on the football field.

USFNation talked with Jones and asked him what's changed with recruiting since our last update about 3 weeks ago.

"Not much, I was supposed to visit Pitt this coming weekend, but they called me and said the head coach wouldn't be around this weekend. I'm supposed to re-schedule, I'm not sure if I will be able to though."

Jones said he also has a visit set with FAU and USF.

"My visit with USF is on the 19th. I am supposed to go to FAU, but it's the same weekend as my Dade/Broward all-star game so I'm not sure if that visit will happen."

Joe Jones also shared with us his latest top 3.

"Right now my list is USF, Pitt and FAMU."

As of now Jones is offered by the Bulls and FAMU, not Pitt.

South Florida is certainly the front runner, and their biggest concern with getting Jones on signing day will be grades. He is expecting his latest SAT score in the next day or two, which will be an important part in his recruitment. Stay with USFNation.com as we expect commitment news from Jones in the next couple weeks.
