Kevin Williams, the former Gibbs cornerback/ receiver will join USF this spring after earning a qualifying score on the ACT exam. Williams chose the Bulls over West Virginia who was recruiting him heavily from the very beginning.

"I chose USF because it's close to home, I wanted to be home, and I really like their program. I also think I will see the ball a lot, and I'll get to play more positions then if I went to West Virginia."

Williams, a 5-foot-11, 175-pound athlete last played for Gibbs High school in 2005 and while playing offense had 709 yards on 52 receptions with 6 touchdowns, and also had 54 rushes for 491 yards with 4 scores. While playing special teams he had one punt return and one kickoff return for touchdowns, and also had 3 interceptions while playing defense. Williams also ran track for the Gladiators, and helped them win the Class 3A, District 11 title in 2006, the program's first since 1982, by winning the 400 meter event.
