The Bulls first commit of '07 was Claude Davis a defensive lineman from Lake Gibson HS in Lakeland. After an impressive senior season Davis was named to 2006 FACA North-South All-Star game. On the field Davis had a tremendous showing and had two big sacks against one of the top quarterbacks in the nation, Robert Marve, who led Plant to their first 4A state championship.

Davis, who stands at 6 feet 4 inches and weighs 230, has received plenty of attention lately and has just visited Louisville this past weekend.

"It went well, I just wanted to see some things, but USF is where I'm at though."

Davis went on the visit with Lake Gibson teammate and fellow all-star Bilal Powell.

"Bilal really liked it a lot, that's his number one school."

How does Davis feel about his teammate having BIG EAST rival Louisville as his number one choice?

"It's crazy, because my number one school is USF, and his number one is Louisville, and if he goes to Louisville, and I'm going to USF, then will play against each other, so that'll be just crazy."

Davis said he now stands at 6 feet 4½ inches and weighs between 225-230 pounds.

"I've just been lifting weights, gaining a little weight. I stopped playing basketball so I could lift weights."

Davis has a busy next several of weeks with visits to South Florida (1/19), Michigan State (1/26) and Tennessee (2/2)

"I have my official visit with USF next weekend, and then I go to Michigan State with Bilal, were staying together."

With all the attention and official visits set, many Bulls fans are wondering if Davis still considers his commitment with USF solid?

"Yeah, and why not? everything is falling into perfect place."

Louisville and other schools are pursuing Davis hard, and even though Davis say's he's committed to USF he continues to take visits, and Bulls fans can only wonder if he will honor his pledge.

"I'm still committed to USF, but I'm going to take my visits and then I'll sit down and talk it over with my family."

Stay tuned with USFNation as we follow up with Claude after his USF visit.
