"The USF community is extremely shocked and saddened by the death of one of our student-athletes on campus today," said USF President Judy Genshaft. "There is nothing more tragic than the loss of one of our students, and our thoughts and prayers go out to Keeley's family, friends and fellow athletes and students."

Dorsey was immediately given first aid on site. He was transported to University Community Hospital. A short time later, USF officials were notified of Dorsey's death.

USF is actively providing counseling and support to the university community.

"Our entire athletic family is deeply saddened by this tragic loss," said USF Director of Athletics Doug Woolard. "Jim Leavitt has spoken to Keeley's dad and he has offered our condolences and support. Right now, Coach Leavitt is on his way back from a recruiting trip in West Palm Beach to join our students tonight."
