USFNation Class of '07 Q&A: Corian Garrison

It was a battle with BIG EAST rival West Virginia, but in the end the Bulls got their man. 6'2-290 pound DT Corian Garrison, from Bradford HS in Starke, FL. In todays exclusive Class of '07 interview find out, what type of a player he is, what team he is most looking forward to playing against, and more. Read on to find out what he had to say. Only on! Corian Garrison Profile Why did you choose USF?
Corian Garrison: Basically because they been there since the beginning with my recruitment, and everything, they stuck with me. They been my number one for a long time. 
USFN: What are some of the things that you like about USF?
Garrison:   "I like the program, it's up and coming, and can go places. Also , their close to home.

USFN: Have you been following the Bulls this season?
Garrison: I followed them somewhat, but I wasn't able to catch a lot of games. 

USFN: How long have the Bulls been recruiting you, and who were involved?
Garrison: They started recruiting me last spring , last summer,  Coach Dawsey, and the coordinator, Franks, and  I talked to coach Leavitt,  when I went on my visit 

USFN: Do you know any of the current players on the Bulls?
Garrison: I know George Selvie, before my visit I would talk with him a little bit.

USFN: What type of a defense do you like to run the most?
Garrison: I like to run the 4-3, I don't like that 3-3-5, because basically all your doing is freeing up other guys to make plays. I like to go head on with another player. 

USFN: What type of Offense do you like to see when you get to the line?
Garrison: I like to see them in Shotgun. You know its a probably a pass, and you can just come off the ball. I like to pass rush and get after the quarterback.

What is your favorite move?
Garrison: I have two, my swim move is one, and I jam the offensive lineman, and move him to the side.

USFN: What position are the Bulls recruiting you for, and do you play any other positions?
Garrison: They're recruiting me for defensive tackle.

USFN: Are you flexible, and willing to play at a position of need?
Garrison:  I like left tackle,  but  as long as its on the defensive line, I'll play anywhere. I don't like offense that much.

USFN: What are some of your strengths and weaknesses as a player? 
Garrison:  I initiate contact, and have a nose for the football. I'm also strong at the point of attack, and can tackle.

USFN: Is there anything you want to work on? 
Garrison:  My lateral movement and my quickness. 

USFN: Is there a player on another level, college or pro that you model your game after?
Garrison: Probably John Henderson, from Jacksonville, he can play.

USFN: What are your current height, weight and 40 yard time?
Garrison:  6'2, 290 pounds, and I run a 4.9

USFN: What are you going to do to stay in shape before you get to Campus?
Garrison:  I'm going to start  running miles, I ran l last summer trying to get ready for this year, and I also threw shot put with the track team. . 

USFN: Do you play any other sports?
Garrison:  No, just football.

USFN: Do they have any problems redshirting? 
Garrison:  No, not really, but we'll see what happens this off season.

USFN: Do you enjoy playing special teams? 
Garrison:  No, I  don't mind, but usually its still at tackle. 

USFN: What do they plan to accomplish while here at USF?
Garrison:  I want to be a freshman All-American, To become one of the best players to come through South Florida

USFN: What three things come to your head when I say USF?
Garrison:   Location, Location, Location. 

USFN: What team are they most looking forward to playing against in the next 4 years?
Garrison:  I'm going  I'm going to say West Virginia, because my host when I went up there Marcus Broxie, was from Tampa, and he is already talking trash right now. There is going to be some smack flowing. 

USFN: How are your grades, how are you toward qualifying.
Garrison:  I'm al ready qualified,  2.9 core and a 16 on the ACT. 

USFN: Are you excited to get to campus?
Garrison:  Yeah, I'm looking forward to it.
