As a junior Shaq recorded 132 tackles, 9 sacks, 1 INT and 2 forced fumbles. To improve on those numbers he has already began work in the weight room and is doing footwork drills on the track.
"My lower body has always been my strength, so this summer I'm really going to work on getting my upper body bigger."
This summer Wilson will also be busy with camps and combines. Already he has 6 camps scheduled, including UF, Clemson, South Carolina, Georgia Tech, USF and UCF.
"I'm actually going to visit UCF pretty soon. They are having a bunch of juniors come to watch a basketball game."
Although Wilson is only a junior the offers are already stacking up. Some of them include Illinois, South Florida, South Carolina, Georgia Tech and Ole Miss.
"USF offered me when I was at their camp last summer." Adding, "I loved the coaches there, especially coach Burnham. He was a big help to me. He taught a lot of technique and really knew what he was talking about."
Wilson says he models his game a lot after the way Ernie Sims played at Florida State. He can deliver the big hit, but also drop into coverage and man-up on a wide receiver.
"I play a lot like Sims, but I could also be compared to Michael Boulware. I'm fast enough and I have the size to possibly make a move to safety the same way Boulware did when he went to the pros."
Regardless of the position he plays in college Shaq Wilson will be one of the higher rated prospects on USF's board this year. Where do the Bull's rank on Shaq's board?
"USF is up there, I would like to stay close to home and all my family is in Lakeland." Wilson said, "I have a top 5 right now it's South Carolina, Ole Miss, USF, Illinois and GT."
